For those struggling with Tethering, a critical part of why I use android, to control thing I want to control, I found the following works

Get this tasker plugin https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... trol&hl=en

change your action to run this plugin and on first time give it the permission it needs (Allow modify system settings)

Tested working on Galaxy S9 with 8.0 :)

Martin - can you work out what this plugin is doing and integrate into the magic, as it doesnt require root?

Interesting plugin. I'll take a look, maybe I can find what method it uses to toggle the tethering.

Thanks & Regards,
Martin

Hallo

Jens

Newbie user here. I'm wondering if the "Time" trigger is also affected by the new Google background restrictions. If so, any workarounds? I've got everything turned off/on as needed. ie: optimize if off, simulate "alarm" is on, Notification in status bar is on etc...

I just migrated from LP 5.1 to new phone, Oreo 8.1 based, MIUI 9.5.6.0. I have worried that Automagic will be assassinated by the system so often that I have considered to install LOS from beginning. But after disable all sort of memory optimization, enable auto start and whitelist Automagic from all kinds of possible obstacles (there are a lot  ), I found out it is working perfectly, no service restart, Control UI works fine (and much faster on new phone). All my previous flows, which use time based triggers, all are working properly without extra tweak (I just copy the whole folder to new phone). And the good news is, even after turn off those memory optimization, my battery life is almost the same as the others in the forum. Which means turning those on/off give nothing to battery life. But I have a fully working Automagic :D, and fast multitasking with less app reload; which are very nice.

So if you got problem, better start sweeping your phone and turn off those useless memory optimization, RAM cleaner, antivirus or any similar setting.

Hi, recently I have updated my phone (galaxy s7) from LOS 14.1 to LOS 15.1 and I am currently having problems with the condition Bluetooth LE Device Available. It works well while my screen is on. But once the phone's screen is off sometimes the BLE device is not detected even though I have disabled all the power saving options for Automagic and gave access to everything(I believe). I use a BLE beacon at home to set the phone to home settings. I have increased the timeout to 50 seconds, but it did not improve. Could you please advice? Thank you. Roman

Maybe it is limitation on oreo? Try to make sure Automagic is whitelisted from privacy guard (settings > security > trust). If there is setting to block sensor wakeup, try to disable that too.
