Selective Do Not Disturb Function?

Post by Benny Mills » 05 Aug 2015 07:17

Sorry to start yet another thread, but I was researching this and am not sure if it is possible. I always have my phone on DND in the evening to make sure no one wakes me up. However, I was wondering if there is a way to keep DND on, but make it selective? Like, say, if you are expecting to get a call any day now that your sister finally went into labour and you want to make sure that you don't sleep through that call?

I guess trigger Sister went into labour is the way to go :)

Lol ok. Sound like a good plan ;-)

But how do I do that exactly? Sorry, I'm a newby, so I'm still figuring out the functions. How do I set DND but incorporate a trigger for a single phone number?

You could put your device into DND mode but create a flow that handles the exceptions (trigger Incoming Call: <Sister> --> action Sound). You could also use a similar flow that changes to 'Always interrupt' when your sister calls. However I recommend to test such a flow since the call will be already ringing when you change the mode. Android does not define if the ringer will begin to sound in this case.
