Automagic appears in "Keyboard and input methods"

Post by ZSasha » 04 Nov 2013 21:50

Hello,

Automagic appears in "Keyboard and input methods" alongside with my other keyboards.
It is currently unchecked - should I turn it on? Why it is there?

Android 4.1.2 (SGS 3)

Thanks.

Hi,

The Automagic "keyboard" can be used to simulate keyboard input without the need to root your phone.
You can use the keyboard in action Control UI with one of the functions sendKey, sendText.
The "keyboard" itself simply consist of two buttons, one to show a short help text and a second button to switch back to a regular keyboard so it's only helpful in conjunction with the Control UI action.
On a rooted phone it's usually easier to directly use an action Execute Root Command: input text <xyz>.

Regards,
Martin
